UI/UX Designer

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer. You will work in an Agile, collaborative team; and working directly with Product Teams and Developers to define and deliver various user experiences, from initial ideation to sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and implementation of final UI designs. The role will involve delivering exceptional customer experience across digital ecommerce channels and will have a direct influence on the digital revenue metrics.You will creatively translate user needs into elegant, intuitive, and effective design solutions. The role will also require understanding customer needs, behaviours, and pain points and use this to define problem statements that inform the team’s focus. You will work in a fast-paced team of Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Designers to deliver impactful solutions across online portals and mobile apps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translating user needs into elegant, intuitive and effective design solutions
  • Identifying and understanding customer needs, behaviours and pain points to define problem statements that guide the team’s focus
  • Working in a fast-paced team of Engineers, Product Managers and Product Designers to deliver impactful solutions across online portals and mobile applications
  • Driving a user-centred design approach and influencing product direction and roadmap through evidence-driven user experience
  • Collaborating with teams across various departments including Product, Engineering and Marketing, and across digital channels on product discovery and solution delivery
  • Working with Objectives and Key Results to achieve ambitious objectives
  • Collaborating closely with the Product Lead, Stakeholders and Development Team to define problem statements, establish success metrics and identify product opportunities
  • Hosting workshops with the Product Team, Stakeholders and Developers for continuous product discovery aligned to identified problems and opportunities
  • Using discovery methods such as prototyping, usability testing, focus groups and user interviews to validate solutions with real customers before development
  • Defining success metrics with the Product Team, crafting A/B tests and analysing results to enable data-driven decisions that positively impact the user experience
  • Delivering and communicating insights gathered from user research through effective and engaging presentations and user journeys
  • Delivering wireframes, user journeys, high and low fidelity prototypes and final user interface design requirements for online portals and mobile applications
  • Working with various Product Teams to ensure visual consistency across the platform by leveraging and contributing to the Design System
  • Conceptualising and developing micro-interactions, demonstration videos and animations
  • Ensuring design compatibility across different markets and languages
  • Owning and advocating platform accessibility in both user experience and user interface
  • Translating design journeys into product demonstration videos
  • Helping to shape and drive the product strategy and vision in collaboration with the Product Team
  • Partnering with Product and Engineering Leaders to ensure deliverables are well-defined, provide high business value and are successfully executed
  • Recommending new tools and technologies by staying informed about the latest trends and techniques in Product Design
  • Enhancing user experience as measured through usability scores such as Net Promoter Score and customer feedback
  • Increasing conversion rates on key journeys designed
  • Designing innovations resulting from user research and testing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience across the full product design cycle including user experience research, copywriting, wireframes, prototypes, visual design, implementation and post-release optimisation
  • Five to eight years of experience in user experience design with a track record of delivering successful mobile app experiences
  • Strong visual design skills with solid understanding of Apple and Google design guidelines
  • Portfolio showcasing native mobile UI design with case studies; live app store examples advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience designing mobile-first, customer-facing products in evidence-driven teams
  • Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient in prototyping tools such as InVision and Proto.io
  • Knowledge of user research techniques including interviews, surveys, usability tests and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative results
  • Ability to solve problems in customer-centric yet business-aligned ways
  • Intuitive understanding of customer needs beyond surface-level expectations
  • Skilled in clearly communicating and persuading around design concepts
