We’re accepting applications for the position of Regional Estates Manager (Property Portfolio Manager) in East London. The purpose of this position will be to manage and oversee the estates and property portfolio within the respective regions for optimal collaboration, which will include regular travel to different regions and head office; as well as staff, contractor, vendor, customer and stakeholder management and relations. Additional functions will include lowering costs; implementing contractual terms whilst adhering to all regulatory requirements and policies, procedures, and processes; implementing and managing programmes for lease and contract renewals consent; landlord negotiations; customer liaison and many other functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing the estates and property portfolio within the respective regions
- Collaborating optimally by regularly travelling to and within regions and head office
- Taking responsibility for staff, contractor, vendor, customer, and stakeholder management and relations
- Conducting tasks in a timely manner with the goal of implementing efficiencies and lowering costs
- Implementing contractual terms whilst adhering to all regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and processes
- Implementing and managing programmes for lease and contract renewals, landlord negotiations, customer liaisons, and other estates strategic projects
- Managing rentals and developing initiatives to aggressively reduce cost
- Focusing on high productivity and entrepreneurial approaches in managing operations, staff, vendors, and stakeholders
- Maintaining high standards, customer excellence, and quality assurance
- Developing and implementing innovative initiatives to further reduce and optimise operational expenditure
- Compiling management, dashboard, strategic, and operational reports and presentations
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric and relevant Degree or Diploma in a field such as Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Project Management, Property Management or Civil Engineering
- A qualification in Town Planning (non-negotiable)
- Telecommunications experience (non-negotiable)
- Relevant management courses such as MDP or MDC desirable
- At least 8 years experience encompassing contractual legal requirements, environmental standards management, leasing commercial property as well as town planning
- Experience interacting with landlords face to face and dealing with municipalities in terms of signing lease agreements and renewals
- Experience in the telecommunications sector, specifically towers
