NOC Data Analyst

The NOC Data Analyst transforms complex data into meaningful insights to enhance operational excellence within the Network Operations Centre. This role involves analysing performance metrics, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations to improve network reliability and efficiency. By collaborating with various teams, the analyst ensures data-driven decisions optimize performance, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery, utilizing data visualization and analytical techniques to effectively communicate findings and support organizational goals in telecommunications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transforming complex raw data into clear, actionable business narratives and visualisations for non-technical leadership
  • Applying practical understanding of network operations concepts, including fault management, alarm thresholds, mean time to repair (MTTR) and service level agreement (SLA) adherence
  • Structuring ambiguous operational challenges into quantitative analysis problems and delivering specific, evidence-based recommendations
  • Developing and implementing scripting and report automation to eliminate manual reporting effort and accelerate delivery of insights
  • Collaborating effectively with highly technical teams (Network Operations Centre Engineers) and non-technical teams (Field Operations and Management)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science).
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role, preferably within the telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or a similar industry
  • Proficiency in SQL for advanced data extraction and manipulation
  • Strong expertise in data visualisation tools (Power BI preferred) for dashboard development
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or R for data analysis, manipulation, and automation is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
