As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Data Governance Policy across the Group. This role requires advanced stakeholder management skills, as you will collaborate with various markets and business units to understand their data governance processes and recommend improvements where identified. This role will work closely with various departments to identify data-related challenges, develop governance policies and standards, and drive data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with functional data owners, data stewards, and data champions throughout the business to drive compliance and address data quality issues within each data domain.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring compliance by enforcing the data governance policy across the organisation to ensure data is managed effectively and securely
- Ensuring compliance with the Group Data Governance Policy across the Group
- Completing quarterly compliance assessments and ensuring all required evidence is gathered and validated
- Collaborating with markets and business units to understand existing data governance processes
- Recommending improvements to data governance processes where gaps or risks are identified
- Partnering with the Security and Privacy Teams to drive adherence to data governance policies and standards
- Working closely with various Departments to identify data related challenges across the organisation
- Developing and refining data governance policies standards and frameworks to support consistent implementation
- Driving data driven decision making by promoting strong governance practices
- Designing data quality by collaborating with the business to define and implement data quality rules across source systems including the cloud data lake
- Embedding data quality requirements into solution design to prevent issues before they arise
- Working with Functional Data Owners Data Stewards and Data Champions to drive accountability within each data domain
- Addressing data quality issues by supporting remediation activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promoting data ownership and accountability through regular training and awareness sessions
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across business and IT Teams
- Supporting subsidiaries by sharing governance tools methodologies and best practices
- Conducting data governance compliance reviews across subsidiaries to ensure consistent adherence to governance standards
- Maintaining high standards of data integrity to support strategic business object
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Digital Transformation, Finance or related
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience managing data governance
- Demonstrated success in managing and coordinating projects involving diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Experience with QlikSense is required
- Ability to create insightful data visualizations and reports to support data governance initiatives
- Experience in Abinitio as data governance tool is beneficial
- Prior experience in the telecommunications sector is a significant advantage
