SharePoint Automation and Migration Specialist

This position is based in Johannesburg.

We’re accepting applications for the position of SharePoint Automation and Migration Specialist. The purpose of this position will be to migrate HR automated solutions from SharePoint Designer to PowerApps and Power Automate while enabling internal capability through knowledge transfer and structured training. The role will include automation migration execution, solution design and build, capability building and team enablement, knowledge transfer and sustainability, as well as stakeholder engagement and delivery governance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and cataloguing all existing SharePoint Designer workflows and forms
  • Prioritising the migration backlog based on business impact and complexity
  • Executing end-to-end migration of solutions to Power Apps and Power Automate within agreed timelines
  • Validating migrated solutions to ensure functional equivalence and improved performance
  • Resolving migration risks, dependencies and technical issues proactively
  • Redesigning legacy forms into modern, intuitive Power Apps interfaces
  • Developing automated workflows using Power Automate aligned with best practice standards
  • Simplifying and optimising process flows during redesign by eliminating inefficiencies
  • Ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable and aligned with governance frameworks
  • Embedding security, access control and data privacy compliance aligned with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
  • Delivering structured training sessions on Power Apps and Power Automate from beginner to intermediate level
  • Providing hands-on coaching during live migration activities
  • Building internal capability to independently manage, enhance and troubleshoot solutions
  • Developing quick reference guides and instructional materials for ongoing support
  • Fostering a culture of digital adoption and continuous learning within Human Resources Services
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation is created for all migrated workflows and applications
  • Ensuring the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for ongoing support and maintenance
  • Ensuring clear handover of ownership to Human Resources Services teams
  • Establishing reusable templates and development standards
  • Enabling long-term sustainability following contract completion through structured transition activities
  • Engaging with Human Resources process owners to validate requirements and identify redesign opportunities
  • Providing regular progress updates, dashboards and status reports
  • Managing expectations regarding timelines, scope and delivery risks
  • Facilitating feedback loops to continuously improve solutions
  • Ensuring alignment with Group Human Resources and the broader automation strategy

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric and relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5+ years process automation experience with 1 to 2 years using PowerApps and Power Automate
  • PowerApps and Power Automate experience
  • SharePoint Online and Designer workflows knowledge
  • Migration experience
