This position is based in Johannesburg.
We’re accepting applications for the position of Dealer Commissions Manager. The function is responsible to correctly execute all trade partner incentive payments, reconcile all interfaces, and generate invoices and credit notes for trade partners. The end result is to accurately reflect the financial position of the organisation and to ensure local financial statements are compliant with accounting standards. The manager should be able to lead a team, processes and information requirements to perform accounting responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures, policies, SOX, compliance and business partner service level agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributing to, challenging and implementing the strategic vision for world-class Finance processes in alignment with organisational objectives and requirements, ensuring communication and agreement with key stakeholders
- Defining, together with the executive head, the overall business plan to ensure delivery to customers and markets, while ensuring competitiveness across all elements
- Ensuring achievement of financial objectives set for the year across overall processes and key stakeholder partnerships
- Managing end-to-end finance processes for Dealer Commissions, including control functions
- Acting as key custodian for accounting records and procedures
- Considering, together with the executive head, the impact of solutions on other business areas and the interdependency of business units
- Implementing and driving quality standard frameworks while ensuring high levels of quality accounting aligned with global best practices
- Identifying, drafting and scoping effective reports
- Analysing and reporting data while identifying trends and abnormalities
- Delivering daily, weekly and monthly reporting internally as well as to business partners
- Participating in and managing projects where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Adopting a proactive approach to prevent future issues
- Aligning service delivery to changing business needs while ensuring effective customer and stakeholder management
- Ensuring customer needs and requirements are met through appropriate systems, processes and procedures that support customer-specific strategies
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of commercial agreement terms with suppliers
- Preparing written material of the highest quality with clear insights and actions for executive management
- Ensuring communication and understanding of strategy across all affected parties
- Preparing and delivering presentations effectively and with impact at senior management level

- Preparing and reviewing accounting system and reporting outputs
- Preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement reports
- Preparing monthly management reports
- Preparing monthly key performance indicators and key financial indicators reports
- Preparing ad hoc reports
- Reviewing weekly and monthly financial reports relating to acquisition and retention costs
- Analysing reports to derive insights and providing financial recommendations to senior leadership to support operational strategy and financial targets
- Reviewing accruals and provision calculations and identifying areas of improvement to reduce accruals
- Performing provision calculations and accruals for transactions subject to International Financial Reporting Standards 15
- Reviewing agreements between the organisation and various stakeholders and engaging with shared service functions on invoice processing optimisation
- Managing the Dealer Commissions Team to ensure accuracy, validity and completeness of financial information used for reporting and analysis
- Engaging with executive heads prior to contract finalisation to provide recommendations and working capital impact assessments
- Providing guidance on commercial agreement content to ensure alignment with accounting treatment and business objectives
- Preparing and presenting financial results analysis to senior leadership
- Reviewing cash flow forecasts for Dealer Commissions and engaging senior leadership on forecast position and underlying risks
- Reviewing working capital key performance indicators to assess forecasting model accuracy and required amendments
- Supporting Finance Planning and Analysis teams with budgeting and forecasting for commissions
- Analysing key commission and incentive trends to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of results while providing recommendations to senior leadership
- Liaising with senior leadership to design management reports and information tools to improve decision making
- Reviewing interim and year end statutory packs and financial statements within the organisation group of companies
- Identifying and implementing risk controls across all financial processes within Finance Operations
- Maintaining an effective control environment over commissions and incentives and resolving identified weaknesses
- Ensuring a clean audit outcome for internal and external audits and closing all open items by due dates
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric and a BComm Degree in an Accountancy or Business related field
- Qualified CA is an advantage
- At least 8 related financial experience in accounting, inventory, audit articles, etc. including supervisory experience
- SAP and HFM experience
- ICT industry experience
- Systems implementation and project management experience
