An exciting new position has become available for a Product Manager. This role is responsible for the strategic and operational management of designated product categories, including developing and executing product strategies, driving the 4P’s (product, price, promotion and place), and implementing go-to-market plans. It oversees forecasting and PSI management, supplier relationship management, promotion planning, pricing, and e-commerce activities, while ensuring accurate data reporting (including sell-out and GfK data). The role works closely with Sales, Finance, and Warehouse and support teams to manage stock, claims, queries, and pricing processes, and is accountable for overall category performance, supplier engagement, and product department delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing identified product lines including planning strategy and implementing successful tactical activities
- Forecasting demand and managing the supply chain for chosen product categories including Production Sales and Inventory management (PSI)
- Managing promotions with suppliers for the retail channel
- Managing the supplier interface for responsible product categories
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and non customers
- Driving assigned product lines across product, price, promotion and place
- Developing and implementing go to market plans while working with all departments to ensure effective execution
- Analysing potential partner relationships for products
- Working with the Sales Team to implement strategy
- Producing weekly reports on all category activities
- Working with support departments to manage queries and claims including Cores Support, Supplier Claims, Dealer Claims and Stock Variances
- Working with the Warehouse Team to provide support and participating in stock takes for assigned categories
- Developing and executing the e commerce strategy aligned with overall business objectives
- Managing pricing strategy, online promotions and campaign performance
- Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions where required
- Managing all business data requirements including sell out data and Growth from Knowledge data (GfK)
- Managing pricing uploads onto the system
- Ensuring all pricing information is submitted to Finance on time
- Managing the Product Department
- Handling all claims and cores in a timely manner
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Sales and Product Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales Management or equivalent advantageous
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel Level (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Wholesale or retail sales and marketing experience or product management experience
- Drivers’ license and own vehicle – this position requires travel to suppliers and customers
- Strong communication, coordination, planning and negotiation skills
