Applications are open for the position of Project Manager. Duties will include managing transmission core projects (core fibre, DWDM, IP MPLS, 5G core) and access (MW, fibre, 5G) capacity rollout programme including special and coverage projects across all regions to ensure regional and transmission KPIs are achieved. This will include optimising current site solutions, methods, processes, power, RAN, Transmission and core architectures to improve efficiency and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing CAPEX, investment and cashflow efficiently to increase rollout effectiveness and support the introduction of new products and opportunities
- Managing the transmission core (core fibre, DWDM, IP MPLS, 5G core) and access (MW, fibre, 5G) capacity rollout programme including special and coverage projects across all regions to ensure regional and transmission KPIs are achieved
- Optimising current site solutions, methods, processes, power, RAN, transmission and core architectures to improve efficiency and performance
- Being accountable for weekly reporting, on-time network capacity delivery, product quality, cost-saving initiatives and operational targets
- Developing, maintaining and distributing standard project management deliverables for successful rollout of sites, products or services including implementation plans, project schedules, project budgets and variances, issue and action item logs, meeting minutes, risk assessments and contingency plans
- Managing vendors including installation contractors and equipment suppliers to ensure governance compliance and alignment of rollout plans with KPIs
- Managing inventory using a JIT approach and ensuring MRNs are raised and issued from the warehouse to support deployment across multiple sites
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- A Project Management Qualification
- At least 5 to 8 years of telecommunications experience
- At least 5 to 8 years of core, microwave, fibre, leased lines, satellite, as well as RAN 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G experience
- Strong budget management experience
