Sales Team Leader

We’re accepting applications for the position of Sales Team Leader. The purpose of this position will be to assist the Regional Sales Manager in the development, performance and maintenance of the activities of the sales department, with the responsibility of the day-to-day activities of the team. This will include managing administrative functions such as client feedback and costing, visiting prospective customers, supervising Customer Care Consultants and many other functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the region and area by ensuring communication and information are shared with all relevant stakeholders including client feedback and costing related information to the team
  • Communicating in a transparent and constructive manner
  • Managing credit notes by following up, identifying reasons for issue, addressing matters with the client and ensuring minimal credit notes are processed
  • Reviewing profits and losses on an ongoing basis to recover lost business
  • Attending to and responding to emails on a daily basis
  • Communicating opposition information and strategies as well as general strategies to consultants and Management on a daily basis
  • Supervising and monitoring Customer Care Consultants by ensuring adherence to the call cycle and effective communication with all departments, Managers and Store Owners
  • Creating an environment of respect and capability among consultants, ensuring confidence and the ability to perform competently without supervision
  • Enabling each employee to realise their own potential and progress within the organisation
  • Encouraging staff collaboration to support business profitability
  • Motivating the team to achieve organisational goals
  • Settling disputes between team members and or customers
  • Ensuring Customer Care Consultants do not deviate from the call cycle
  • Communicating any changes or requirements to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Managing weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with each team member
  • Assisting with onboarding of new consultants within the team
  • Conducting joint visits with consultants
  • Managing a six to eight week call cycle with Very Important Person (VIP) clients, Store Owners and Store Managers
  • Ensuring Customer Care Consultants achieve monthly targets

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field
  • At least 5 years experience as a Sales Team Leader essential
  • Experience in the packaging industry or a related industry essential
  • Must be deadline driven, innovative and strong at multitasking
  • Must have strong communication, planning and problem solving skills
  • Must be a strong leader and excellent motivator and coach
