Senior Buyer

Our client is recruiting for the position of Senior Buyer. The purpose of this position will be to procure components, including components for special projects. Responsibilities will include costing, assisting Production Managers with control and identification of components, and assisting with stock taking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing technical specifications of products
  • Obtaining quotes
  • Procuring and controlling stock of key manufacturing components
  • Implementing material management with Production and Suppliers
  • Ensuring enough capacity at Supplier to support Production requirements
  • Overseeing the buying process including supervision of Junior Staff
  • Maintaining small asset register
  • Being accountable for vendor scorecard
  • Driving the follow-up process with the resources provided including supervision of relevant personnel
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports of key manufacturing components
  • Preparing estimates on standard products
  • Preparing estimates on special products
  • Recording actuals on standard products
  • Recording actuals on special products
  • Assisting with stock takes regarding multi-function printers
  • Assisting with stock takes regarding work in progress
  • Checking variances and taking appropriate action
  • Participating in production meetings

Minimum Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree which includes procurement and or stock management
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement of technical products
  • Must be an open and honest person
  • Good communicator
  • Must be very organized
  • Be a logical thinker and numbers orientated
  • Emotionally mature
  • Fast learner
  • Be a flexible person
