We’re accepting applications for the position of Warehouse Auditor. The purpose of this position will be to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse and dispatch areas, reducing costs, and maintaining high productivity levels. The Warehouse Auditor will be tasked with handling driver queries, maintaining clear communication with drivers and management, and ensuring meticulous attention to administration tasks associated with workflow requirements, all with a focus on health and safety obligations and quality of service to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising and co ordinating staff involved in the allocation and placement of stock into correct bin locations within aisles under supervision
- Ensuring stock labels are correct for each stock item and aligned with the system and bin location
- Maintaining lanes under supervision with high standards of housekeeping and compliance with Health and Safety requirements
- Ensuring productivity levels of staff under supervision are maintained within agreed working hours while clocked in
- Querying stock levels with Management when bin locations are empty and ensuring system stock is correctly allocated to bins
- Ensuring picking slips are printed, checked and allocated to relevant staff for picking
- Supervising and co ordinating warehouse staff involved in picking and moving stock to the relevant dispatch bay with due care for stock handling
- Conducting continuous audits and inspections of the picking process to maximise efficiency
- Providing guidance and training where required and implementing corrective action in cases of non compliance with processes or procedures
- Auditing picked stock in the dispatch bay against picking slips and addressing anomalies with employees while ensuring corrective action is taken
- Supervising assigned staff during loading duties and ensuring focus on the loading process
- Ensuring vehicles scheduled for loading are free of stock and suitable to receive goods without risk of damage including water or rust
- Ensuring drivers tick off loaded items and conducting end of loading comparisons between driver copies and remaining bay stock while investigating and escalating discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager and arranging re picking where required with notes recorded
- Listing remaining stock in the bay not linked to an issue and escalating this information to the Warehouse Manager
- Identifying over picked stock in line with procedures and returning items to the correct bin location or area
- Ensuring delivery addresses on invoices are complete and clearly communicated to drivers prior to arrival in line with the delivery sequence
- Ensuring all warehouse and dispatch processes and procedures are rigorously followed and escalating deviations for further action or notation
- Verifying completion of trip sheets and ensuring delivery sequences are maintained by Drivers while investigating deviations and escalating unresolved matters to the Warehouse Manager
- Handling queries and concerns from Drivers promptly and effectively while providing appropriate solutions and support
- Maintaining clear and open communication with Drivers and Management to ensure seamless co ordination
- Participating in special deliveries as required by Management
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to all assigned duties
- Documenting staff grievances brought to attention and communicating these to the Warehouse Manager
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies relating to receiving, storage and handling of stock
- Enforcing and promoting a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety regulations and best practices
- Taking responsibility for requesting clarification and familiarising with relevant policies, procedures and workflows where uncertainty exists
- Conducting regular safety checks and addressing potential hazards promptly
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric essential
- At least 2 to 5 years experience in warehouse and distribution centre operations, with a track record of successful staff management and productivity optimization
- A forklift license is preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Capable of motivating and guiding a diverse team effectively
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance procedures
